About me

I’m Josh and I specialize in helping people overcome their problems (because YOU are NOT the problem) and the obstacles that keep them from living the life they aspire to have. I especially enjoy helping & journeying with people who are trying to make sense of & recover from religious trauma. After having spent the vast majority of my life in a religious system, I know exactly what it is like to leave (or want to leave, or even to consider leaving) your faith community, & the risks involved in even asking questions.

I know what it is like to experience a loss / change of your belief system & how completely disorienting this is. As someone who was diagnosed w/ PTSD, I have great empathy & understanding for people dealing w/ traumas. I am an empathetic & hopeful counselor. I am comfortable talking (or not talking) about issues of faith. Reach out via my website or here.

I deeply believe you are not the problem, but whatever problem(s) you are facing in your life are the problem(s). What could change if you believed the problems (depression, anxiety, fear, anger) are the problem? What if the power your problems hold could be eradicated? What if you had hope for the future? When hope is a struggle, I will hold onto it for you.

He’s a really great guy, very sweet. I feel that he listens to me well and tries his best to understand the way I think. I feel comfortable talking to him. I don’t feel judged. He’s very supportive and corrects bad habits. 10/10
