About me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. Being in this field for 30+ years has allowed me to work with many people with various issues affecting their lives. This history includes; counseling battered women, abused children, adolescents and adults regarding substance use, military Veterans/active duty soldiers and their family members, family and couple therapy, people diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness and early in my career people diagnosed with Developmental Disabilities. My approach to therapy is eclectic, always respectful, kind and eternally optimistic that each of us has the ability to make changes and live the life we imagine. Everyone's story can have a happy ending.

I am processing the grief of my brother who died by suicide and she has been helpful, compassionate, and highly skilled. I’m also working on shame related to childhood traumas, and I feel comfortable understood and valued in our sessions.

Phyllis has been SUCH a wonderful fit for my needs. She actively listens, positively redirects my thoughts, and navigates every conversation with so much kindness and intelligence about every situation I’ve thrown her way. She’s the sort of therapist that makes me go around telling everyone how wonderful therapy is haha!

I absolutely love talking with her, and recommend her expertise to anyone who needs the emotional support. I deal with a lot of anxiety surrounding past trauma, and within 5 sessions she’s really helped me see myself through a more positive lens. Thank you so much Phyllis!

Phyllis is absolutely great. She is patient and sets expectations that results do not happen over night. She helped me find me and help me move onto reconnecting with my wife.
