About Me

Nearly a decade ago, an internship with the forest service helped me realize something important: While I loved solitude and the natural world, the primary way I find meaning and fulfillment in my life is through deep connections with others.

It was then that I began a journey toward becoming a licensed master's-level social worker. I am thrilled to work with others as they solve problems, create meaning, overcome challenges, and ultimately thrive.

Before working at BetterHelp, I was a therapist with refugee teens and young adults helping them cope with past trauma and adapting to major life change.

As a husband, and as a father of a young daughter, I have many diverse life experiences that give me perspective on many of the challenges facing young people today. Of interest to me are issues of depression and anxiety as well as struggles surrounding tech use and addiction. Not only have I studied this issue in depth, but I have also published in a top social science journal on mobile phones and education.

Currently, I am working on a PhD in evaluation. This field is focused on determining the effectiveness of treatments and interventions. I am equipped to chart a course of treatment based on the most cutting-edge therapies, and to course-correct when you need something different. I love working with each person to find what is right for them.

As a therapist, I am very client-centered. You will help me set the goals that you want to work on. I am very solution-focused, wanting to figure out what works for my clients. I love existential theory -- How do we create meaning during our short time here on Earth?

I look forward to welcoming you into the sacred space between client and therapist. I invite you to come as you are.
