I’m a licensed professional counselor and registered art therapist. I use only the most well researched and highly regarded techniques which include, but are not limited to, techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based stress reduction, and solution-focused therapy. As an art therapist I also find that incorporating creative, non-verbal processing can also lead to increased insight and is helpful for clients of all ages.
I received my Masters Degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and since then have gained experience in a broad range of settings. These have included inpatient mental health hospitals, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, in school and home settings, and as the lead therapist of a mental health intensive outpatient program. Currently I work primarily in private practice.
People have described me as having a warm, engaging and enthusiastic presence. If you are looking for someone to work closely with you and to be invested in your progress, we’ll work great together. Our sessions will include talking of course, but there might also be reading, writing and drawing. Be ready to do some homework. Having said all that, ultimately you’re in charge of our pace – I’m walking beside you, not dragging you along. Together we will utilize your strengths, develop your external resources, and create a specific plan to meet your goals.
