About me

My name is Abby Rose and I am a clinical social worker licensed in North Carolina with 10 years of counseling experience. I recently completed 9 years as a full-time active duty Air Force mental health provider and my clients came from a myriad of backgrounds. I am currently a full-time private practitioner working out of Germany where I relocated with my spouse who remains on active duty. I work daily with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, alcoholism, phase-of-life problems, marital discord, and trauma. The military afforded me wonderful training and experience in working with family violence, substance abuse and addiction, and traditional mental health services. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure therapy which are evidence-based modalities to treat military, childhood, and sexual trauma. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia. Additionally, I have completed Gottman Level 1 and 2 certifications which is my favorite modality to assist couples. No matter what you are experiencing, big or small, I am here to assist you.

I believe that healing occurs in the context of healthy relationships whether that be your partner, a friend, or the therapeutic relationship. As a social worker, my passion is marginalized populations, and I come from a systems-theory approach as well as a person-centered approach. I believe it is a privilege to hear another person's story and I look forward to sitting with you in your space and listening to your narrative.

I’ve greatly appreciated my time with Abigail, she’s helped me talk through a lot and always quick to respond and help me reorganise my thoughts. She’s very skilled, offers a broad range of advice and techniques, patient and understanding. I was a little sceptical signing up to BetterHelp to begin with, but I couldn’t have hoped for a better therapist.

Abby Rose is an awesome therapist. She listens well and provides great feedback. I have gone through several therapists before I was matched with Abby and when she started by wanting to know my beginning I knew she was the right therapist for me. She took the time to get to know me and allowed me to understand the trauma I have experienced. I enjoy talking with her.

Mrs Rose provides effective communication while keeping it real, so no BS. She is very punctual and honest, vulnerable and very patient. All these features make her a great therapist, and she has humour. I mean, what more do you need?!

I've really enjoyed my time working with Abby. She has offered great insights and book recommendations. She's helped me navigate my trauma and relieved a lot of stress in my relationships. I'm in a much better place now than before I started working with Abby.

Abby is just the perfect therapist. I’ve been working with her a long time and can definitely say I’m a changed man. She has helped me build self confidence and made hard decision making easier. She is very patient and understanding at the same time.
