Adriana Franco, LCSW
About me
Hi, my name is Adriana. I am a Bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Addictions Counselor with over 16 years of experience. I studied Clinical Social Work at UIC Jane Adams School of Social Work. I also practice yoga, mindfulness, and meditation.
This is my second career and my passion. I have the honor, and privilege, of providing mental health services to young adults, adults, families, and couples, as well as working with children from 4-12 years of age. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, anger, domestic violence, career challenges, and parenting.
My counseling style focuses primarily on empowering clients to lead better lives, and in so doing, treat them with respect and dignity in a safe, supportive, encouraging, and warm space. My role as a therapist is to understand you as an individual, listen, provide a non-judgmental safe space, guide, advocate, advice, and educate those in need as they find their voices and healthier lifestyles, meeting them where they are at – believing that clients are the experts of their lives.
I strive to establish rapport through understanding, honesty, and positive regard towards the individual while applying person-centered, person-in-environment theoretical orientations, and motivational interviewing. I use an integrated approach, based on the client’s needs through the course of therapy, established on client-therapist collaborative treatment plan development. This plan might integrate a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, meditation skills, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance commitment therapy, grounded on the client’s preferences and needs.
You are here, you have taken the first courageous step on the path to building a healthier, responsible, joyful life. I believe I could help you to succeed in this journey. I would love to get started working with you and am happy to answer any questions you may have for me.
I look forward to working with you.

Adriana was very helpful and informative about the situation I was/am going through. She wasn't judgmental and made me feel comfortable sharing my issues with her. I would recommend her to all my family and friends as she has a very welcoming spirit. Thank you for everything!!!

Adriana has been a great help for me working through many issues in my life. She listens and takes time to identify why an issue is so important to me and helps me plan a way to work on it. It’s been a great experience.

When I first heard of BetterHelp I was scrolling through Instagram and thought it was a cool idea but at the time I didn’t think I needed counseling. Fast forward a couple of months and little did I know BetterHelp would introduce me to an amazing person named Adriana. I can confidently say she has changed my life in so many ways. She has given my the tools to manage and prevent panic attacks. When I first started experiencing these horrific attacks I feared that my future would be filled with dark days. I felt hopeless. My first video FaceTime with Adriana I already felt a small glimpse of hope knowing there was someone always there for me. I plan on continuing to see Adriana for a long long time. I know realize BetterHelp is for EVERYONE. Even if you feel like you don’t NEED counseling I urge you to just attend a couple of sessions. What could it hurt? I promise you will feel refreshed.
