Adrianna Barber

About me

Adrianna is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience working with adolescents, individual adults and couples. She is passionate about walking alongside others as they pursue their path of balancing life’s challenges while maintaining good mental health care. In addition to counseling, Adrianna also has experience in working with opiate addiction and management experience working with non-profit organizations.

Adrianna became a first-generation graduate in her family when she graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University (located in Nacogdoches, TX) with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Living with a minor in Early Childhood Education. She always knew she wanted to help others in some way, but wasn’t quite sure how. Over time, she grew compassion for helping others to articulate their current emotional state. She found herself falling in love with the opportunity that counseling gives individuals to use their voices to best communicate how they are feeling and processing current stressors in their lives. She views counseling as a privilege to care for the heart and mind in a very special and unique way. She then decided to pursue a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary (Houston, TX). Adrianna’s experience in both private practice and clinical mental health have created a space for her to become a versatile and eclectic counselor.

Due to the variety of her experience, Adrianna practices from a combination of different approaches and theories. However, she tends to lean more toward but not limited to person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy as well as motivational interviewing and more. Adrianna is honored to have the opportunity to guide and assist you in the therapeutic process of healing. Her goal will always be to provide a safe, non-discriminatory space for you to feel comfortable throughout your journey as she walks alongside you during this time.

Adrianna has learned that being intentional about self-care is critical in order to function healthily on a daily basis. She enjoys challenging her penmanship by practicing calligraphy during her free time. She also enjoys finding other activities that promote mindfulness and self-care such as journaling, reading and kickboxing.
