For over 25 years, she has specialized in working with adults who are dealing with chemical use disorders and mental health issues in a variety of clinical settings. She has vast experience with a wide range of mental health concerns from mild to severe in such settings as hospital psychiatric units, medication-assisted treatment centers, counseling centers, and in private practice. She has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing and practices other treatment modalities in response to clients’ specific needs.
Now in private practice, she works with clients who are dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, and addictions. Client symptoms can stem from trauma, grief, career changes, family, relationship and intimacy concerns as well as, adjustment disorders and personality issues. Building a strong therapeutic relationship between the counselor and the individual is paramount for growth and recovery.
Ann-Marie has a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) in the state of North Carolina.
