Professional Experience

Before becoming an online researcher and writer, Dr. Schad concurrently provides assessment and psychotherapy to young adults as well as to the more mature population who experience dementia. Her experience in the field thus far expands beyond academia. She thrives in remaining abreast on the latest mental health research and therapeutic interventions to better serve the population with whom she works. With an interest and dedication to addressing stigmas associated with mental health and wellness, she continues to target subjects areas related to anxiety, depression, progressive memory decline, and sleep disorders. With an understanding that there is never too much information and helpful research about mental health in all of its forms, she continues to look for new and creative ways to both start discussions & engage with others about these important topics.

 

Education

Erika Geiggar-Schad, Psy.D. received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology, which is an APA accredited program. She has treated a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, attachment issues, relationship and family issues, career challenges, decision-making and problem-solving, loss and grief difficulties, trauma and abuse, as well as chronic and persistent mental health challenges. Additionally, she has an extensive background in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Behavioral Analysis, Evidence-Based Practices research, military life research, assessment, and psychological consultation.
