About me
Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and mother of 6 who understands the struggles of life! I have been providing therapy for the last 8 years to a wide variety people from ages 18-80. I have experience working with those who struggle with addiction, depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, as well as personality disorders. I can help with stress management techniques, improving communication, improving self awareness, practicing presence, and much more. I have provided both individual and group therapy on inpatient units, outpatient units, and even with incarcerated women (I have worked in the prison system for the last 5 years). Most of my experience is with individuals. Before becoming a social worker, I was a youth director in the Methodist church so if you are looking to incorporate Christianity into your therapy, I have the background for that as well.
My approach is warm and non-judgmental. I accept everyone where they are at, with no expectations or pressure. I come with no agenda, other than to help you achieve your goals. Typically I use the cognitive behavioral approach in therapy which is all about finding ways to change your perspective, and often times when your perspective changes so does your mood. Of course, the approach depends on your goals, and you set those goals in therapy, I'm just here to help you along the way.
I currently live in Phoenix , AZ with my 6 children, though I am originally from Florida (born and raised). I love all things water, spending time with my kids, and I must admit--I love some reality TV. Don't judge me :)
I look forward to meeting with you!
