Hello, my name is Alex and I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist in California and I have been providing treatment for 14 years in mental health. I have provided therapy for adults, children, families, couples, and support groups. Some of the areas related to mental health that I have addressed are depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, domestic violence, parenting problems, and I work with fathers struggling to parent their children as a result of historical trauma.
I have life’s experience and along with my past and continuing education, I am able to provide empathy and a safe space which are essential components for clients to open up and explore their internalized emotions. When one is able to feel one’s emotional pain, the therapeutic process is enhanced allowing for the client to identify their problems and explore solutions to move forward in life. I provide reflective practice technique allowing for my clients to be heard and feel that they are not being judged. The techniques I use in therapy are a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, internal family systems, client-centered, and solution focused.
Should we work together in exploring and processing your issues and concerns, I will support you by listening to you and providing the tools necessary for happiness and growth.
I earned my B.A. and M.A. at Chapman University. I have been trained in ICBT Certified, TF-CBT Certified, MAP Certified, Seeking Safety, Crisis Oriented Recovery Services, Project Fatherhood Certified. National Adoption Competency Mental Health Training Initiative for Child Welfare Professionals, Loss & Grief from David Kessler, Trauma Informed, Integrated Core Practice Model, Internal Family Systems, Co-Occurring Disorders, Substance Abuse, Couples Therapy (Gottman Method), Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders, Systems Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy, Reflective Practice Technique, Adoption Services, Culturally Responsive Services, and Domestic Violence Certified.

Though it is my first session with him, I felt like he understood what I was feeling and going through. He also made me feel comfortable about opening up about what I went through in my past.

Alex is an amazingly empathetic therapist! His attentiveness during the session is so what I've been needing. I feel heard and so supported. To me, a great therapist holds space for you, by gentle and effective listening, so that you may come to your own healing. He is definitely a god send.
