About me

Hi! Welcome. I'm so glad you made the effort to reach out for help today. It is a courageous step. I would like to work with you and help you get to feeling better.

I started crisis counseling in 1979 with Cedars-Sinai Rape Response in Los Angeles. A few years later we were responding to victims of all violent crime, not just sexual assault. I attended California State University, Northridge and studied Theatre Arts and Women's Studies. After I graduated I enrolled in Antioch University, Los Angeles and where I earned my master’s degree in clinical psychology. After five years of counseling internships I received my Marriage and Family Therapist license in 1991, the same year I had my daughter.

I moved to the Eastern Sierra part of California which is a rural area and worked for Child Welfare Services for more than twenty years. I have worked for a couple of local non-profits including one for hospice as well as a domestic violence and sexual assault agency. I have also worked for the Bishop Paiute Tribe.

I have enjoyed working with teenagers and helping resolve family conflicts. I am certified in Anger Management, Workplace Bullying and Grief Recovery. I enjoy helping people learn their value and be able to treat themselves with patience and kindness, and well as develop the skills needed for self-comfort and self-calming. I want to assist people in helping themselves to feel better and increase their enjoyment of life. Life is certainly a challenge and we all need help along the way: We are not meant to go through life alone, with no support. We all need a helping hand.

I've really enjoyed my sessions with Alex. This is the first time I've had counseling and she made me feel completely comfortable right away, she is an amazing listener, and offers very helpful insights that make me feel great after our sessions. Her advice and perspectives have been exactly what I've been needing to ease my anxiety, contribute to easier and restful sleep and develop a stronger belief in my own intrinsic value.

Alex is amazing. She listens and I mean LISTENS! She always gets what I’m going through, it’s uncanny. She is super responsive, soft spoken, and kind. I look forward to our sessions. Even though I’ve barely known her for a week? It seems like she’s known me forever. I highly recommend her. She’s made my life so much happier. God bless her.
