About me

Hello!

If you're exploring connecting through BetterHelp, there might be the possibility that more traditional modalities of therapy have seemed inaccessible for perhaps reasons of cost or connection. The important thing is that a relationship like this feels meaningful and accessible to you. I want to share some information with you about myself so that you can decide if my style and experience seem like a good fit for what you hope to get from our collaboration.

I have practiced within the mental health field as a social worker for six years and before that worked as a public school teacher. I've worked with individuals who have experienced persistent and chronic struggles of anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma histories (complex and event-based), and substance-related issues. A significant part of my work has been my experiences working with folks who have often felt different, whether it was due to experiencing queerness or being trans* in a world where you're presumed straight and cis. Intersectionality of identities has been an integral component to my work, especially in prioritizing complexity and meaning-making. This work is always collaborative. I believe each and every person has inner resourcing and wisdom and is the expert in their own experience. Practicing through person-centered, radical self-acceptance, trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and strengths-based care becomes integral to creating new and regenerative narratives that help to serve us better in the ways we show up for ourselves and for others.

Feedback I've received has included perceptions of me as non-judgmental, warm, and feeling really seen and heard, which I believe is integral to this work.

I want our interactions to feel accessible and helpful to you, that being said, I am happy to collaborate through any communication methods whether it is through video, voice, or text-based.
