I am a Board Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. I have experience working with clients of all ages with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse, bipolar disorder, anger issues, and relationship struggles. My counseling style is relaxed and accepting yet solution-focused. My treatment approach is client-centered and I utilize mindfulness, relaxation skills, working on acceptance of what is out of our control, recognizing existing strengths to motivate change and growth, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) skills such as identifying triggers and challenging negative thoughts.
As an Art Therapist I use art in my counseling sessions in order to provide an alternate form of expression when emotions, thoughts, and experiences are too difficult to put into words. If you are willing to engage in art making I can encourage the use of art to assist in emotion expression, for insight, and to explore self-concept.
