Alexis Brown

About Me

Hello! My name is Alexis Brown and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have developed a strong foundation of experience and training stemming from The Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. I have worked in a variety of environments and played many roles including coordinated care/medical social work, child welfare/investigations, domestic violence, at-risk youth and homelessness. I have coordinated volunteer programs for at-risk youth within the Tallahassee Community and have worked with children and families facing crises. I've also worked with elderly patients and their families that have been effected by the COVID-19 pandemic. My goal as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker is always to “communicate and engage with organizations and people within communities to promote opportunities for children, adults, families and groups at risk or in need to function, participate and develop in society.”

My counseling style is interactive and warm with the hopes of providing my clients with a safe place where they feel secure and open to speak about their daily challenges. The goal is always to help you and challenge you to be the best version of yourself. I realize that life can get very overwhelming and difficult at times, especially when unexpected situations arise that are out of our control, but my overall goal is to help you navigate each obstacle with confidence and ease finding coping mechanisms and solutions that are manageable for you. My approach is a combination of cognitive- behavioral theory, solution focused and motivational interviewing that is tailored to meet your specific needs.

I know that seeking a therapist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker may be a little awkward and nerve-wrecking at first, but I applaud you for taking a step in the right direction to make the necessary changes that will lead to the happy and healthy life that you desire. I look forward to working with you.

Alexis is amazing. Her guidance and advice has truly changed my life for the better and allowed me to look at my life and my blessings in such a positive way. She is always honest and real with her opinions which is exactly what I need. I have been doing therapy my entire life and never found a therapist that has helped me as much as she has. I can say with 100% confidence that, because of her support, guidance, advice and encouragement, I have been motivated to become the best version of myself and to believe in myself and all that I’m worth and all that I deserve. I’m lucky to have found her.

Alexis is great. She listens but also is able to be honest and try to help. I really like speaking with her and I feel like she helps me work on myself.

My experience with Alexis has been excellent, to the point that I can't really see how it could be improved upon. Initially I was unsure about therapy as a whole but, just as soon as I'd actually started it, I realised I needn't have worried: Alexis has everything to do with that. She is a great listener with a huge capacity for empathy, a keen eye for what is actually going on under the surface, and a talent for intuitively unpacking complex issues in a manner that is both professional and familiar. She is very communicative and supportive, too, manages to really hear and understand without pandering or enabling, and is not afraid to ask or answer difficult questions. I do honestly feel like she's helping me become a better person. Thank you Alexis.

Alexis is so kind and makes me feel so comfortable talking to her about things that aren’t easy to say in words. I am definitely grateful to have found her

Alexis Brown helped me during a time when there was a major breakdown in our family relationships. I felt very sad and without hope. Alexis allowed me to talk about what was happening, she listened without judgement. She offered suggestions to help me with overcome this personal crisis.
She is a professional who cares. Her energy is very positive and infectious.

Alexis is so helpful, supportive, and insightful. She's made me feel extremely validated and heard, especially in a stressful time when I wasn't getting that from anyone else.
