About me

Hello, may name is a, Alicia, I have a BA in psychology from Boston University, as well as an MA in Professional Counseling from Lesley University. I am a Independently Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. My manner is attentive, warm, accepting and non-judgmental. I believe that each person possesses the strength to heal. My theoretical orientation is cultural and relational. It seems that when we are able to discuss our true feelings with another that we can trust, we are better able to "hear" ourselves think, and in turn less indecisiveness. Your insights will shed light as to why you might be experiencing difficult emotions. I facilitate the conversation by listening to all of your life experiences, not merely centering on one aspect of your life, bull all experiences you identify that brought you to therapy. I utilize evidenced based methods such as Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT) as interventions to support you with your goals. I offer a safe place for you to work through difficult thoughts, emotions and create a collaborative treatment plan specific to what you need and want out of psychotherapy focusing on positive outcomes.

One authentic approach I utilize is listening, and that I resonate with DBT which is founded on Mindfulness, not being directive, listening, and not judging is the overall foundation I strive to provide to my patients.

I specialize in individual and LGBTQ issues, depression, Bipolar, and anxiety. My practice demystifies the system by de-stigmatizing the myths of mental health related issues, as there are more similarities than there are differences. My approach is Relational and Multicultural. I believe I can help with my years of experience and with my passion for what I do. I love people and I love helping people achieve their dreams.

You can learn more about me and my practice by visiting my listing on Psychology Today at www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/compassionate-psychotherapy-services-phoenix-az; or, you may view my website at phoenixpsychotherapistservices.com.

I look forward to working with you!

Alicia-A very supportive therapist. She understands me. She respects me. She listens and gives me suggestions or examples of life scenarios to make me aware that I'm not alone in this. I feel safe. She makes me feel safe and that's more than what you could ask for a therapist.
