Hello, may name is a, Alicia, I have a BA in psychology from Boston University, as well as an MA in Professional Counseling from Lesley University. I am a Independently Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. My manner is attentive, warm, accepting and non-judgmental. I believe that each person possesses the strength to heal. My theoretical orientation is cultural and relational. It seems that when we are able to discuss our true feelings with another that we can trust, we are better able to "hear" ourselves think, and in turn less indecisiveness. Your insights will shed light as to why you might be experiencing difficult emotions. I facilitate the conversation by listening to all of your life experiences, not merely centering on one aspect of your life, bull all experiences you identify that brought you to therapy. I utilize evidenced based methods such as Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT) as interventions to support you with your goals. I offer a safe place for you to work through difficult thoughts, emotions and create a collaborative treatment plan specific to what you need and want out of psychotherapy focusing on positive outcomes.
One authentic approach I utilize is listening, and that I resonate with DBT which is founded on Mindfulness, not being directive, listening, and not judging is the overall foundation I strive to provide to my patients.
I specialize in individual and LGBTQ issues, depression, Bipolar, and anxiety. My practice demystifies the system by de-stigmatizing the myths of mental health related issues, as there are more similarities than there are differences. My approach is Relational and Multicultural. I believe I can help with my years of experience and with my passion for what I do. I love people and I love helping people achieve their dreams.

I’ve only worked with her a couple times but every session she listens to me and somehow always says what I need to hear.
She helped me alot. She is very professional, she knows and undertand the people's behavior and how to address any issues with.
Alicia was an incredible therapist, she listened to me and guided me through my issues with family, in my professional life, and with my self esteem. She is kind and always provided tools so that I could help myself become a better me. Thank you, Alicia! I am more content because of you.
Alicia is so great, she's understanding and compassionate. I am so happy that I matched with her! She knows her stuff and is very experienced.
I am not the type of person that has ever been particularly interested in attending therapy, but with Alicia I notice that I am able to discover something new or clarify how I feel about a subject in every session. She has been super helpful and accommodating!
I am so happy Alicia and I were matched. She is warm and funny and intelligent. She established a nice rapport very quickly and I felt understood by her right from the beginning. I feel easy with her and feel she is my ally. A couple months into counseling I feel we are on a good trajectory together. I struggle with bipolar disorder rapid cycling, and having a person like Alicia, there to listen to my week’s events and then go deeper into my “self”, is as important to my stability as medication is. I am learning some new skills like DBT. Alicia is also quite insightful and has given me things to really consider several times already, often having this knack of hitting the nail on the head.
Alicia is easy to recommend.
Honestly, Alicia Goodman has gone above and beyond to make each session comfortable and most importantly Alicia is very non judgmental and easy to talk to. I have learned so much from her in my 3 sessions with her.
She is very helpful and an excellent listener. The worksheets she sends help out a lot with figuring things out and getting a better grasp on my life and why I feel the way I do.
Alicia Goodman is an amazing therapist. This was my first time going to therapy and she was the first counselor I spoke with. She is professional, incredibly knowledgeable, kind, funny, and down to earth. Obviously I lucked out, in getting matched with her. This process is working very well for me because of the work I do with Dr. Goodman.
I was comfortable talking with Alicia right away. She is supportive and gives different tools and advice which have been very helpful.
Alicia has really helped me over the last couple months with my trauma related anxiety and depression. She really took the time to get to know me, and made me feel welcome and worthy as I am. I would recommend her highly.
Alicia has done an outstanding job listening and responding to me and my feelings. She is easy to talk to and makes this whole experience better than expected. I appreciate her and the work she is doing.
She is amazing. I feel like I won the lottery. I pray that whoever needs help meets Alicia. She has far exceeded my expections. I felt her impact immediately.
Alicia has been the best! She’s helped me with a lot in just the short amount of time that I’ve been chatting with her. She’s given me so much clarity and I have so much respect for her. She’s a wonderful human being!
I love her! I am a resident doctor so my schedule is busy and in the past I have tried but not been motivated to consistently go to therapy. Alicia has changed that for me, and she has made a huge impact. She is attentive, charismatic, understanding, helpful, and is able to tailor her approach to what will be most useful in the moment. I really appreciate her use of evidence-based treatments and a very human, compassionate, conversational style. My friends and family members have noticed a difference and I definitely have too!
I highly recommend Alicia Goodman. She is making such a difference and I have only had two sessions. I feel safe, heard and supported. She is getting to the root of my issues and I also appreciate the work sheets and goals. They are helping so much.
