Hi! am glad you are here! It is a courageous step you are taking to find a therapist. Whether the reason you are seeking professional help is a failing relationship, or are symptoms of depression or anxiety, I want you to know that there is hope and there are solutions to difficult situations in life as well as to emotional pain. You are not alone! Many people suffer in silence and it does not have to be that way. I have helped individuals, couples and families from all walks of life to learn how to effectively communicate with others to feel more connected with others in their lives for over fourteen years. I am very happy to have opportunity to work with you!
I have a BA in psychology from Boston University and I have a MA in Professional Counseling from Lesley University. I am a Independently Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. My manner is attentive, warm, accepting and non-judgmental. I believe that each person possesses the strength to heal. My orientation from which I work to help people is Psychodynamic, Holistic, and Humanistic. My theoretical orientation is Relational and Cultural. My practice helps you by facilitating insight during the therapy session by guiding you through a productive conversation utilizing Psychodynamic theory. Your insights will help you make choices with more clarity. Your insights will shed light as to why you might be experiencing difficult emotions. I facilitate the conversation by listening to all of your life experiences, not merely centering on one aspect of your life, bull all experiences you identify that brought you to therapy. I utilize evidenced based methods such as Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT) as interventions to support you with your goals. I offer a safe place for you to work through difficult thoughts, emotions and create a collaborative treatment plan specific to what you need and want out of psychotherapy focusing on positive outcomes.
I specialize in individual and LGBTQ. My practice demystifies the system by de-stigmatizing the myths of mental health related issues, as there are more similarities than there are differences. My approach is Relational and Multicultural. I believe I can help with my years of experience and with my passion for what I do. I love people and I love helping people achieve their dreams.

She is very helpful and an excellent listener. The worksheets she sends help out a lot with figuring things out and getting a better grasp on my life and why I feel the way I do.
Alicia Goodman is an amazing therapist. This was my first time going to therapy and she was the first counselor I spoke with. She is professional, incredibly knowledgeable, kind, funny, and down to earth. Obviously I lucked out, in getting matched with her. This process is working very well for me because of the work I do with Dr. Goodman.
Alicia is so wonderful, she's knowledgeable and kind.
I was comfortable talking with Alicia right away. She is supportive and gives different tools and advice which have been very helpful.
Alicia has really helped me over the last couple months with my trauma related anxiety and depression. She really took the time to get to know me, and made me feel welcome and worthy as I am. I would recommend her highly.
Alicia has done an outstanding job listening and responding to me and my feelings. She is easy to talk to and makes this whole experience better than expected. I appreciate her and the work she is doing.
She is amazing. I feel like I won the lottery. I pray that whoever needs help meets Alicia. She has far exceeded my expections. I felt her impact immediately.
Alicia has been the best! She’s helped me with a lot in just the short amount of time that I’ve been chatting with her. She’s given me so much clarity and I have so much respect for her. She’s a wonderful human being!
I love her! I am a resident doctor so my schedule is busy and in the past I have tried but not been motivated to consistently go to therapy. Alicia has changed that for me, and she has made a huge impact. She is attentive, charismatic, understanding, helpful, and is able to tailor her approach to what will be most useful in the moment. I really appreciate her use of evidence-based treatments and a very human, compassionate, conversational style. My friends and family members have noticed a difference and I definitely have too!
I highly recommend Alicia Goodman. She is making such a difference and I have only had two sessions. I feel safe, heard and supported. She is getting to the root of my issues and I also appreciate the work sheets and goals. They are helping so much.
