Alisa Lewis

(LICSW)

About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker based in San Francisco, CA and I have worked in private practice for over 10 years. I have had significant experience helping individuals experiencing both personal and work stress in a variety of settings. More specifically, I have done work with those who have been geographically separated from their families and other support systems for extended periods while working in challenging environments. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, addiction, grief and loss, life transitions, and diversity issues. As a mental health specialist, I have provided training focused on stress management, resilience, burnout, and secondary trauma.

My philosophy is based on the premise that all people have inner strength, and that therapy can help by accessing this natural resource. I believe that it is a sign of courage to seek counseling, and have seen the curative benefits in those that I have worked with over the years.

Alisa is very patient and understanding when I have trouble expressing or explaining my thoughts and emotions. She helps me make connections that I never noticed before and gives me a sense of clarity when I don’t know how or why I’m feeling the way I’m feeling.
