About me

Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience in a variety of settings. Most of my career has centered around working with people who have experienced difficult and life-changing events, but I have experience helping others with a variety of issues and concerns. I am caring, empathetic, genuine, and non-judgmental...mental health is my passion!

My approach is client-centered and I believe in connecting with others where they are in life to work together to achieve your goals. My hope is to help others to live a life that is authentic and meaningful. I will see the best in you and to help you to do the same.

I received my bachelor's degree from Missouri State University, and obtained my Masters degree at Avila University. I have worked in a variety of settings, primarily with kids and adolescents. I spent several years in preschools, helping kids with trauma and with the parents and teachers that care for them. I truly enjoyed helping children and seeing the word through their eyes. Much of my time recently has focused on helping adults with difficult life transitions, depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship issues, LGBTQ issues, grief, and substance use disorders. My passion has always been helping others to see the best version of themselves and I believe in working with people where they are at without judgement or expectations.

It takes courage to allow others into your life, and I look forward to connecting with you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Alisha Persaud. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Alisha is a wonderful therapist. She takes the time to get to understand you as a person and then really tailors her advice to who you are. She has taught me a lot about not thinking within black and white constructs and also to look at the evidence when I am feeling anxious or have made up a situation in my head (ie. what is the evidence this is true? what is the evidence this is not true?). She is very caring and kind and I would absolutely recommend her.
