About me

Hello! I am glad you are here. My name is Alisha Pike, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have been practicing therapy for over fifteen years, and I am licensed in Maine and Florida. I received my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from The University of New England and I have experience with individuals, couples, and families. Some of my primary areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, trauma, family and relationship conflict, anger management, parenting and difficulty with various life changes and transitions. I also have a special interest in postpartum depression/anxiety, and I enjoy working with the LGBTQ community.

It is important to have a strong therapeutic relationship with your therapist and to feel that they are a good match for you. I want you to feel that therapy is a safe and non-judgmental place to share your thoughts, and feelings. I most often use a Cognitive-Behavioral approach, and I also draw on techniques from my background in systems-based theory and Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy when appropriate. I believe that counseling should primarily be solution-focused to help you achieve your goals and begin to see improvement as soon as possible.

I know that it can take a great deal of courage to begin the first steps towards counseling. Know that you are making the right decision and there are people here who want to help. I look forward to working with you to facilitate positive change in your life!
