About Me

Hello, my name is Alison Chrun, MA, LMFT. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based out of California. I enjoy helping clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, coping with addiction, stress and career challenges. I also help individuals who have suffered from trauma and emotional abuse.

My therapeutic style is warm and understanding. I believe in meeting my clients where they're at and allowing them to move at their own pace while simultaneously challenging them to work towards their treatment goals. My approach combines solution-focus, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic counseling and a heavy focus on mindfulness. I believe in molding every therapeutic approach to the needs of each specific client.

My availability on the text boards is sporadic. You will hear back from me generally within 24 hours unless I am scheduled to be on leave, which you will know about ahead of time. I do become more active on the text boards in the evening time and can engage in a back and forth text exchange at times.

I offer Live Chats, Video Sessions and Live Phone Sessions. If you are in need of an appointment sooner than my availability, please feel free to mention it to me on the boards and I can attempt to fit you in.

Reaching out for support is the first step in healing and also one of the hardest. This process can feel overwhelming and difficult. I am happy to walk this path of healing with you and look forward to speaking with you soon.

I love her approach in counseling. It aligns with all of my beliefs and I resonate with everything she tells me. I feel safe to express everything that I am feeling and I like that she helps me pin point the root of my emotions. I feel very understood.

Her expertise, background and understanding of my challenges that I am having with my son's depression , anxiety & experience have helped me with a path for myself (healing and how to deal with these two challenges) to help my son through these hard times he is going through.

Alison is a fantastic listener, I feel like she really cares about understanding me and offers helpful suggestions when my thought process is leading in a negative or unproductive way.

Teary-eyed as I write this. I can't be more thankful for having Alison as my therapist. Gone through so many, not one understood me, started to believe therapy didn't work. But I have never been more grateful that I didn't stop looking. Alison gives so much warmth I've never felt before. She listens, she cares, and she made me feel like I was actually worthy of being listened to. It always seems like she knows me so much more than anyone (even myself).

Alison is always accommodating to my schedule, always answers my messages quickly and thoughtfully, and always makes me feel comfortable! I’ve been seeing her for about 2 years now and and love her!

To be honest with you, she's way better than I thought she'd be. I didn't expect her to understand me or figure out what I've been going through but it seems like she at least knows what I'm dealing with.

Alison really cares and listens to what I have to say. She takes every word in account when we work things through. She remembers what I’ve said even a month ago. She makes it easier to live with anxiety, and she offers more support than even those around me do.

I feel like I have someone who is genuinely interested in helping me. I look forward to speaking with her as she has an approach that's very direct but warm and understanding.

I’ve already recommended this platform to people in my program. I’ve had years of therapy but I think between the platform and Alison, we’ve had some pretty good breakthroughs in a matter of a couple weeks. There’s no restrictions on time and I get all the attention I would want. It’s really been a godsend.
