About me

I am a Marine Corp Veteran (1990-1994) with more than 12 years of counseling experience, including Couples and Family Therapy. I have worked with Veterans, Military Sexual Trauma Victims, Individuals in the Criminal Justice , Individuals and Families exiting the Criminal Justice system, Individuals and Families experiencing Homelessness, Individuals experiencing Chronic Homelessness, Substance Abuse and Mental Health challenges, as well LGBTQ individuals and their families.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I am respectful, sensitive to others' journey, compassionate and understand that especially right now in our history, we are looking to one another for positive support and guidance at times. I don't believe in stigmatizing labels and promote inclusiveness. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, trauma informed care, and is strengths based. We will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek out a help in hopes of conceptualizing a fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Alison is a great therapist. Down to earth, extremely tolerant and understanding. Furthermore she's an expert by experience as well, which to me is invaluable. I need to see someone I can joke around with but who also understands the struggle of living with a bipolar, ADHD and traumatized brain every day. Alison is one of the most versatile therapists I have ever met and the best part is that she treats me like an equal. I feel I'm in good hands.
