About me

I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 5 years of experience addressing issues of mental health and chemical dependence. I graduated with a bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and communication from the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota. I went on to pursue a Masters of Science in Education for Mental Health Counseling at Saint John's University in New York.

In my practice, I prefer taking an eclectic approach. This means that I select interventions from various theoretical approaches that I believe would, most effectively address the challenge at hand while keeping your persona in mind. My most frequently utilized approaches include Person-centered therapy, Behavioral therapy, Cognitive behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy and Motivational interviewing. As I get to know you I will become more familiar with your needs as well as your learning style.

Therapy is a collaborative process, so please know that I am open to feedback and prioritize being flexible. Most importantly, I hope to provide you with a person-centered environment, a safe, non-judgmental space to increase self-awareness as you begin to discover the solutions; some of which you have the key to within yourself. One of the ways that I ensure this, is to engage you in the treatment planning process; you define your goals and we review your progress every ninety days. I have found that this collaborative approach to treatment planning provides a system of accountability where we can both track the benefits of the therapeutic process.

I look forward to being apart of your journey of self-discovery and healing.
