About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker currently seeing clients in both Illinois and California. I have over nine years of experience working in the field of mental health. During this time I have worked in a variety of different roles and settings, which have included as a support staff at an inpatient substance abuse treatment center, as a case manager and counselor in an inpatient hospital and as a psychotherapist in an outpatient mental health counseling center. I have had the honor of working with a wide array of people who face challenges ranging from life transitions and environmental stressors to those who have chronic and severe mental illnesses. I find myself most often treating depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse and women’s issues.

I take a collaborative approach to therapy and view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership. With that being said, I tend to rely heavily on your feedback and believe that you are the expert on yourself. I let people’s needs and personalities dictate my practice and will work with you to create treatment goals that are specific to you. I often find myself using person-centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), problem solving therapy and trauma informed care.

With me, you can expect a therapist who is caring, direct and down to earth. I am empathic, skilled and value creating a safe environment conducive for growth. I really enjoy supporting people in meeting their goals and look forward to getting to know you. I applaud you for taking the first (and most difficult) step.

Allison was amazing, thoughtful, and by far the best person BetterHelp could have matched me with. I don't know where I'd be without her.

I have only met with Allison one time, but she was great. I can already tell she provides a safe and comfortable environment, even over video sessions. It is obvious she knows a lot and is very good at what she does.
