About me

Hello, my name is Allison. I have a Masters' of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Master Level Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor through the state of New York. Throughout the last 7 years, I have worked both individually and in a group setting with those who have been diagnosed with Substance Use Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder (Types I and II), Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, and Phobias. I am embedded in both Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapies. I am very client-centered and like to use counseling theories that are tailored to each individual. I focus on the here and now with my clients and work to get them to a positive outlook.
As a clinician, I offer my support and my empathy. I will promote positive regard, compassion, understanding, and a non-judgmental space for you to feel at ease while we work together. I have a willingness to listen and an eagerness to help meet my clients where they are in their own counseling journey.
I congratulate you on starting this journey! I commend and respect your decision to reach out for help and to work on making a healthier and happier version of yourself. I look forward to working with you and I know that we can make positive strides toward your own individualized treatment goals.
