About me

I’m Allison, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California (MFT #105625) practicing in the East Bay Area and beyond. I specialize in providing support for parents at all stages in their journey from preparing to build a family, to adjusting to new parenthood and beyond. I also work with individuals, 20 and 30 something men and women, and LGBTQ+ individuals. My work in perinatal mental health and parenting can encompass everything from trying to conceive, to coping with infertility, miscarriage, and pregnancy loss, to navigating changing relationships and renegotiating your identity in parenthood. My passion for working with parents, with an emphasis on the transition to parenthood, grew from my own personal experiences as a mother and my professional experiences working with parents in this raw stage. Parenthood can fill us with immeasurable joy and hope, and it can bring us to our knees in ways we never imagined. It’s my belief that we can lean into the hard parts of parenting, that having a safe place to tell our story so that we can be seen and validated is essential to growth, and that we can truly thrive in this time in our lives. Growing the next generation of humans begins with nurturing parents during this transformative stage in life. We all deserve access to a safe space to be honest, vulnerable, and authentic, where asking for support is the norm, a sign of strength, not just a last resort when everything seems to be falling apart. I created this practice in response to a need for services that break the mold of traditional therapy in order to meet the needs of a new generation of parents. My aim is to reinvent the village and meet you where you are, whether that’s in your home, in the community, or online through text and video based therapy. Getting the support you need should be flexible and fit effortlessly into your life. Let’s work together to harness the complexity and intensity of this stage in our lives and transform it into an opportunity for profound growth and connection. I value being authentic, present, and vulnerable both in and out of the therapy room. I am a human and mother first, therapist second. In showing up as I am in the therapy room I am inviting you to do the same, to share and be without judgment. I believe in collaborative work, tailoring my approach to based on your feedback, and viewing this process of growth as dynamic. It takes courage to ask for support and to be vulnerable, I commend you on taking this first step. I look forward to hearing from you and joining you on this journey into the next chapter of your life.
