I have been an active Child & Family and Substance Use therapist for 3 years, working with various people in different stages of life. After completion of my education I began my clinical practice at a local inpatient Substance Use clinic and a trauma informed Community Mental Health agency, providing services in all areas of the community, including schools, homes and office. Working in this manner, flexibility & empathy have been key to working with my clients from many different backgrounds. This has been a major influence on my counseling style, which focuses on treating every person as an individual, with their own strengths and needs in their own environment. I focus on providing a warm and open counseling style, attuned to your needs and goals, with the intent to gain more understanding of how to better treat those I serve. I have experience with those struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, defiance, and attention impairment. I am always working on evolving my treatment style by increasing my knowledge through constant trainings and professional meetings. Outside of counseling, I am a wife and a mom to a young boy, which has been the most challenging and truly rewarding role in my life, depending on the day. I spend quite a bit of my free time with my family, hiking, running or knitting.

Almira doesn't let me off the hook or make it easy for me to just slide past issues that continue to challenge me. She gives me homework and expects as much honesty as I can provide about my feelings and situation. She is sympathy and understands my challenges and provides appropriate support and insight. She is all about my healing and becoming a better and more co.tent person. I am very happy she is my therapist.
