Each of us needs some help at some point in our lives and it takes great courage to reach out for help. I believe that finding the right counselor is like finding a trusted friend that offers a safe and non-judgmental environment. I strive to provide this for my clients so that they know their thoughts and feelings are valid and heard.
I have a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Houston – Victoria (2002). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (2004) in the State of Texas and have been practicing since that time. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
I have worked in different areas social services specifically with foster children previously removed by Child Protective Services for all types of abuse and with the biological parents to promote healing and reunification. During this time, I gained experience with Trauma Informed Therapy and working to help children overcome the pain of the abuse they have suffered.
I have also worked with Addictions Counseling serving clients within the Criminal Justice department, whether on probation, parole or in a rehab setting. During this time, this counseling also extended to the families of these clients, to help heal and overcome these issues in their lives.
My counseling style is warm and client centered by empowering you, with guidance, to make positive choices for your life and making the changes that will make your life successful. After all the years of counseling experience, my greatest joy is seeing my clients recognize their own strengths and benefit from our time together.
I look forward to working with you.

Alyce Martin is the best therapist I have ever had - previous ones were the primary reason I have not stuck with therapy in the past. She is respectful of my concerns (even ones I may think are trivial) and offers a professional perspective in a down-to-earth and relatable manner.

Alyce has been a very patient counsellor as I uncovered the issues that I faced. She did not give up and helps me resolve the issues I’m facing not just through advice but practical techniques that help to make me calmer and in a better state of mind. She is able to pick out the real issue behind my problems despite having only communicate through text. I definitely feel a lot better than when I first started.

I am so glad I found Alyce. I needed a therapist who has a lot of experience with narcissists and it took me 3 weeks to finally be matched with her! She is the most understanding and compassionate person I know. She also responds to all of my messages within minutes! Which is absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for being so compassionate Alyce! She is an expert in the narc parents field.
