Alyce Martin

About Me

Welcome! Each of us needs some help at some point in our lives and it takes great courage to reach out for help. I believe that finding the right counselor for you is like finding the person you feel is like a trusted friend that offers a safe and non-judgmental environment. I strive to provide this for my clients so that they know their feelings are valid and heard.
I have a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Houston – Victoria (2002). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (2004) in the State of Texas and have been practicing since that time. Prior to completing my graduate work and obtaining my license, I worked in social services specifically with foster children previously removed by Child Protective Services for all types of abuse. I continued to work with these children after I became licensed, and included working with the biological parents of children. During this time, I gained experience with Trauma Informed Therapy and working to help children overcome the pain of the abuse they have suffered.
During the time, part of my practice became focused on Addictions Counseling, as this played a big part in many of the abusive situations. Addictions counseling extended to not only the families and children, but also to incarcerated and probation clients, as conditions of their release or probation.
My counseling style is warm and client centered by empowering you, with guidance, to make positive choices for your life and making the changes that will make your life successful. After all the years of counseling experience, my greatest joy is seeing my clients recognize their own strengths and benefit from our time together.
I look forward to working with you.

Alyce has been a very patient counsellor as I uncovered the issues that I faced. She did not give up and helps me resolve the issues I’m facing not just through advice but practical techniques that help to make me calmer and in a better state of mind. She is able to pick out the real issue behind my problems despite having only communicate through text. I definitely feel a lot better than when I first started.

I am so glad I found Alyce. I needed a therapist who has a lot of experience with narcissists and it took me 3 weeks to finally be matched with her! She is the most understanding and compassionate person I know. She also responds to all of my messages within minutes! Which is absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for being so compassionate Alyce! She is an expert in the narc parents field.

My treatment hasn't been going on for too long but in the time I have had with the service I'm very happy with both my councillor and the service I'm receiving. Alyce is very friendly, Non-judgmental and I have found her to deliver clarity each and every session. Would definitely recommend her to those in a similar situation to myself.

After much consideration I ventured to have counseling and I chose to do it online. I was matched to Alyce Martin and after reading her profile, I felt comfortable enough to proceed. After very few intersections I knew I had made the right choice. Even though this is going to be a journey, I feel so confident that I have the tools to make my situation better and look forward to controlling my situation. My counselor Alyce has really put me on track.

She’s awesome and listens to what I have to say while giving thoughtful feedback. I would and have already recommended BetterHelp to a few friends.
