About me

Hello,

My name is Alysia, and I love working with people on this road of life.

My fieldwork and on-hands experience in college sociology, psychology and counseling classes have led to my involvement in individual and group therapy with mental health, substance abuse, and mental retardation through my employment at the Department of Juvenile Justice, Valdosta State Prison, Central State Hospital, Behavioral Health Services and as an independent contractor.

My teachings of mental illness, substance abuse, and mental retardation have taught me to recognize behavioral disorders and assess and provide counseling. I gained further knowledge of administrative procedures by working as an assistant shelter coordinator at a homeless shelter in which I enforced office procedures with staff and residents. I enlighten the correct behavior models by using stimulus programs, followed by positive reinforcement and feedback.

I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy, using various cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy informed, and psychoeducation.

Dr Haynes is very friendly and welcoming. I feel I can express myself without being judge, which to me is important for opening up
