About Me

I have been a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor in North Carolina for four years. I have worked with people of all ages from varied backgrounds in different stages of life. I specialize specifically in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This theory focuses on thoughts, feelings and actions and specifically looks for negative interactions between any of these three areas. In this therapeutic approach, we will look for irrational thoughts or untrue thoughts that may be holding you back from making necessary changes in your life.

I have worked in multiple setting including office based and school based counseling. I have worked with a variety of clients and I have found that setting realistic goals that are agreed upon by both the counselor and the client yield better results. In my sessions, I utilize many coping skills and worksheets to be completed in and out of session. I utilize those to give you the tools to reduce symptoms and achieve better mental health. I look forward to meeting you and working with you to achieve your goals.

Alyssa is a wonderful counselor! She listens well and offers helpful advice when needed. I appreciate her approach in taking care of your body (i.e. sleeping habits, staying hydrated, etc) as well as your mental health. She’s easy to talk to, and I would 100% recommend her.

Alyssa is great! I really look forward to speaking with her every week. She listens and gives great advice on how I can give myself a little attention even in my super hectic life. She always responds to messages or concerns quickly. I have had a few counselors over the years, and I have just been able to connect with her, If you have to option, she's definitely who I would suggest.

I haven't been using BetterHelp's services fro very long, but so far so good. I feel very trusting of Alyssa and it feels great to have been paired with a counselor from the area who is familiar with where I'm at! Alyssa has offered great advice relating to setting goals and getting things done to improve my situation! I can say how I feel without spiraling into a web of victimization. Really glad to have been paired with her.
