About Me

Hey there and thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I want to first take the time to congratulate you on taking the first step in seeking change for your current situation. Seeking someone that you feel comfortable with should be your main focus at this time. If you do not feel safe and comfortable with your chosen clinician you will not be able to do your best work.

My name is Alyssa and I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker (LCSW) licensed in California with four years experience providing therapy services. . I have worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings including: inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial and intensive outpatient co-occurring care (substances and mental health), and prison settings. . I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, LGBTQI issues, PTSD, addictions, suicidality and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My counseling style is warm, interactive and sprinkled with humor. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I recognize that many of my patients have had negative experiences based on feeling judged by their "counselor," I assure you that this is a non-judgmental zone. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and Dialectical Behavior counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

I thank you again for taking the time to read my profile. I look forward to working with you.

I really like Alyssa. She makes me feel like my opinions matter and that my feelings are not strange. She listens to me and supports me. She feels like talking to a knowledgeable friend. I would recommend her to anyone and I have recommended BetterHelp to a family member who is now using the service.
