Amanda Capela

About Me

Hi there!

My name is Amanda Capela and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Connecticut. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, and ADHD. My therapeutic approach is one that embodies compassion, empathy, and warmth, while also using my sense of humor when appropriate.

I understand the decision to begin therapy can be challenging. If you are feeling "stuck," please know that you are not alone and we can navigate this hard time together. Individuals, couples, or families who choose to engage in therapy, will ultimately be choosing a very effective way of facilitating change for themselves and their important relationships. By working together, I have confidence that we can collaborate to create new experiences, beginnings, and perspectives. In a non-judgmental and safe environment, we will collaborate to ensure that our work together is meaningful and goal-oriented, suited to fit your needs.

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." It's time to start living the life that is calling you.

Amanda's presence via message or phone call feels like a warm, secure hug. She was always very comforting and acknowledged my thoughts and feelings. I didn't feel the need to hide anything from her, I felt I could be honest about all my thoughts and feelings without judgement. She is a genuine soul and whoever her clients are, are very blessed to work with her.
