About me

Hello!
My name is Amanda, and I am a clinical therapist who specializes in treating PTSD/trauma, depression/mood disorders, anxiety and eating disorders. I am also skilled in addressing the challenges of life transitions, relationships, body image, self-esteem, personal growth and issues of sexuality, spirituality and gender. I began working in the mental health field in 1998 and have provided services in the following settings: outpatient behavioral health centers (hospital-affiliated and community-based), employee assistance and behavioral health managed care programs, nonprofit organizations, and residential and transitional living centers. I have experience working with individuals, couples, families, teens, children and groups.
My therapeutic approach is client-centered, strengths-based, creative and collaborative. I seek to create a therapeutic connection in which you will feel heard, validated and understood. I see the therapeutic relationship as a partnership in which I guide and support you in accomplishing your wishes and goals.
I am also a certified Yoga and Meditation Instructor. I incorporate meditation/mindfulness-based practices into sessions when welcomed and appropriate. i am well-versed in the application of these practices for overall enhancement of well-being, for managing chronic stress and for treating anxiety, PTSD and related struggles.

I haven't worked with Amanda for too long, but I am so far very happy with my experience. I've been to different therapists before, but none of them really ever gave helpful advice until Amanda. After only 1 live session so far, I've already gained some insight and helpful tools to deal with certain anxieties. I'm very hopeful and confident in moving forward in my therapy with Amanda.

Amanda is a kind, supportive, and attentive therapist. For the first time in my life, I genuinely don't feel judged for how I think, what I say, and how I feel.

She's been incredibly supportive and I know she cares about me and thinks about me. It's been really liberating to be so honest with her and to have her be there for me and help me. I'm really, really lucky that we connected.
