Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Connecticut with 7 years of experience in varied settings including inpatient, outpatient, and private practice. I earned my Master's degree from Southern CT State University and since 2011, I have worked with young adults, families, and individuals. I sincerely love building relationships with my clients and empowering them to become the very best version of themselves. I look forward to sharing with you my expertise in self acceptance, self esteem, self awareness, and relationships ranging from friendships to lifelong partners or spouses. I have treated a spectrum of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorders, addictions, and personality disorders. I look forward to collaborating with you to identify areas you would like to work on, and achieve the goals we set forth. I am here to empower you to make the best decisions for yourself to achieve optimal mental health and genuinely enjoy life! I will not give advice or tell you what to do, but I will help you understand yourself better and help you problem solve.
I will first and foremost build a trusting relationship from which you will feel very comfortable confiding in me. I use a non judgmental and empathetic approach so that your feelings are validated. I will challenge you to think of things differently and try new ways to approach situations and problem solve. Our therapy appointment is your safe haven where you can discuss what you wish without a filter. We will spend time creating treatment goals and working toward goal achievement in our sessions. Between sessions I may give you "homework" assignments and/or readings. My treatment approach is a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Treatment, and Psychoanalytic Therapy. My therapeutic goal is to give my clients the the ability to manage life's ups and downs in a healthy way.

Dr. Francis has been so so so helpful for me. A large part of my challenges were with the everyday things in my life, and she really helped me get back on solid footing after a difficult semester.
Amanda has been excellent therapist. She actively listens to me and offers support and guidance that is very helpful.
Amanda is a fantastic counselor!
Amanda is the best!
Amanda has been very responsive and kind. I can tell she wants to get to know her clients right off the bat and get to work on whatever it is that brought whomever to BetterHelp right away.
Amanda is a kind person. She’s a great listener and very understanding. My concern with therapy was being judged, but she reassured me that I was in a safe space. Midway, I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to continue, so I didn’t set my usual weekly appointment. She actually noticed and took the time to check up on me. We discussed an issue I was having and she was very receptive to my needs. Also, I’m impressed by her memory. She remembers what I’ve said in my past sessions, which tells me that she takes notes and cares about her clients. I would recommend working with Amanda.
Amazing, always checking on me.Very easy to talk to.
She was very easy to talk to.
Very helpful and convenient way to get therapy without having to physically go somewhere. Great for people with busy schedules.
Amanda listens, asks the hard questions, and gives me time to think and process my emotions. She's been a great source of help and support.
Amanda is a great person. She made me feel comfortable to share right away with her and is not invasive with questions and the homework given is good.
Amanda has been extremely helpful in each of our sessions. She is a great listener and offers excellent advice when I need it. She's always very flexible and allows me to focus on what I would like to focus on and offers a different viewpoint/perspective when you need it to help see problems in a new light. I highly recommend Amanda.
I am on my second session with Amanda and she has been excellent so far. She is good at making notes, and listening to you as well as asking the right questions.
She can pinpoint the cause of a situation without sounding as if it is a forced delivery of what she might believe the cause to be.
While I was a bit apprehensive when it came to taking these therapy sessions, I now look forward to them greatly.
Thank you Amanda and thank you Better Help for making therapy and counseling inspiring and results driven!
I am impressed with Amanda's ability to get to the center of an issue quickly and to find correlating problems or potential causes that I hadn't considered. I also greatly appreciate the flexibility of scheduling as this was a major concern of mine and the major obstacle preventing me from obtaining therapy in the past. For example, our last session was over the phone on Saturday at 11 am while I was driving from CT to VA. I finally feel like I can get the help that I need with the schedule I have.
Amanda has been extremely helpful, understanding, approachable and non-judgemental. I look forward to my future sessions with her and highly recommend her!
Amanda has totally accepted how I am and my way of thinking. I thought I would be judged since so many people have in the past. But Amanda assured me that would never happen. That alone made me very comfortable with her. We are still in our early sessions, but I like where it's going.
She is kind, smart and asks the correct questions. I’m very happy with my talks with her.
Amanda is a breath of fresh air! She has helped me with so many challenges and in a way that feels supportive and kind and never judgemental. I’d recommend her to anyone.
