About Me
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker who resides in the Metro-Detroit area and have been practicing in the mental health field for over 10 years. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents, along with their parents and families, in addition to working with adults and seniors. I have helped clients work through difficult challenges, such as grief and loss, job changes, trauma and other significant life changes as well as helping people learn to manage mental illnesses such as anxiety, depression, ADHD and PTSD. In addition, I have had the opportunities to work with individuals living with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability, and have helped their families and caregivers better understand ways to support and care for them.
As a teenager I had an interaction with someone in the helping profession, and she had inspired me to not only pursue a similar career path, but she modeled for me an approach that I have continued to maintain throughout my years of practice. I believe that the therapeutic process truly is a collaborative approach where the client is definitely the expert on him/herself. I see my role as being one of an assistant- to help provide some guidance and direction when needed, but ultimately to help the client identify the goals for him/herself and then work with them to recognize the skills they already possess or help them develop new skills if needed.
My approach is a client-centered, solution-focused approach that draws on interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, and motivational interviewing to name a few. I believe in building a solid rapport with clients first, as trust and good communication is needed in any working relationship. The ongoing counseling style that I would use would be tailored to meet your specific needs, as no two clients are the same.
I believe that one of the hardest steps in therapy is the first one- asking for help. You are already taking that step by being here looking for someone who is a good fit for you. I appreciate your time, and am here to help when you feel ready!

Amanda is amazing and caring, I also meant to answer that she does respond in a timely manner, I hit the wrong thing and it won't let you go back to edit. She is patient and willing to work with your current mental health problems even if that's not what you originally had going on when you signed up. I don't feel overly pressured with her but I do feel cared about. I never feel abandoned or like she doesn't care.. I don't feel judged which is so important. The only critique I have is I wish she had more weekday daytime availability for video therapy, HOWEVER, that is the fault of the current pandemic, and the situation everyone is struggling with with sharing home offices, not a fault of her own. Thank you, Amanda, for being someone I can trust, and for working with me to make me the best I can be
Amanda has been fantastic. She's a wonderful listener, knows when to focus on specific issues, and often recalls information from our previous conversations. Amanda is very encouraging and open to hearing anything and everything I have to share. I have never felt judged, which was one of my biggest apprehensions when signing up for therapy and Amanda has been nothing but supportive.
Amanda is AWESOME! She is an amazing listener and always makes sure you are comfortable as topics come up. You can tell she truly cares about you and what you have to say!
Amanda is amazing. She listens to me, and gives me multiple ways to address certain issues I am facing. Amanda makes the experience of therapy feel more personal, which makes me feel more comfortable.
Amanda is great, logical, and empathetic.
Working with Amanda has been wonderful and has done wonders for my wellbeing.
Amanda has taken all of my concerns to heart, has offered genuine advice and shared multiple worksheets and resources with me. In just a few weeks of working with her, I feel I am better able to tackle my anxiety and cope with my insecurities.
I have really come to be pleased with our development of the progress and relationship so far.
I've only been working with Amanda for 3 weeks now, but I feel like I've made significant progress with the issues that I came to get help with in therapy.
She is very understanding, she listens, and is relatable. I feel like she actually cares. My sessions with her have been my personal best experiences with any therapist. I've been to a few in the past, and I didn't find them quite helpful; however, my sessions with Amanda have helped me significantly.
I've already suggested one of my friends try BetterHelp because of my experience with Amanda.
I've only had a couple of sessions, but Amanda has been a great counselor so far.
Amanda has been so very kind and understanding and even shares her own relatable stories. I was ready to completely give up on my beautiful family and home life but, this app came up as an ad on Instagram. I was paired with Amanda Ienna and she immediately responded to me. I am so very happy that I gave BetterHelp a chance and even more happy that Amanda was assigned to me. Thank you so much, Amanda and the BetterHelp team for validating me and for always being there any time I'm having trouble coping!
I like Amanda. Good communicator and listener.
