I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington. I am currently located in Spokane, WA. I have provided individual and group counseling to adults for the last 10 years. I graduated from Marymount University with degrees in Forensic Psychology and Counseling. I have worked with adults experiencing mental illness such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, borderline personality disorder and substance abuse issues in the Washington, DC and Arlington, VA since 2007. Through my work I have seen amazing, positive changes occur in people who had lost hope. Change is good, and scary, and possible!
I use a solutions-focused and strengths-based approach in my work with clients. I believe that the possibility to create the change you want to see is already within you, but you may need some help to find the internal motivation and strength to get where you want to go. I use a number of clinical tools such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) to support my work, but I am most interested in meeting you where you are, identifying your goals, and working on some action steps that can help you reach those goals.
- Stress, Anxiety
- Self esteem
I also have experience in LGBT, Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Trauma and abuse, Grief, Intimacy-related issues, Parenting issues, Anger management, Career difficulties, Bipolar disorder

Outstanding help in my journey. Love her spirit and care to help with solution discoveries.
Amanda and I are two sessions in, but I already feel we’ve made more progress than I’ve made with any other therapist. Her feedback is compassionate and actionable, and she is easy to talk to. Highly recommend!
Amanda listens! That is very important to me, and I believe most seeking counseling. She was available, responsive, sincere in her conversations and in the end, very helpful.
So far she’s been really great, I feel like she understands me better than most, really easy to talk about personal feelings with and seems very eager to help me improve at anything in life!
BetterHelp and Amanda were part of the pieces of a puzzle that helped save my life. I am grateful.
Amanda is AWESOME, she is able to be sympathetic with you and confident with what you need to work on. She does really well provide a variety of tools to use.
I was going through some really difficult relationship issues. Amanda was a great sounding board and really has given me good perspective. She listened to my concerns and thoughts and gave me constructive feedback on how I can decide what’s best for me. I feel Amanda is very compassionate and caring with a great understanding of people. I highly recommend her to help you through whatever you are sorting out.
Amanda is great, always gets back to me in a timely manner and helps me re-frame my issues when I’m depressed or anxious. She is great at life/work/situation help which is what I need! She’s very validating but solutions based; I don’t think I’ve ever left a session with her feeling frustrated. Thanks Amanda!
Amanda is wonderful to talk to. A compassionate listener, but also full of great advice. I've found her particular helpful with some work-stress issues I was dealing with, as well as some family drama. But I can tell that she would be helpful in a variety of areas!
Amanda makes me feel comfortable enough to talk about whatever is on my mind, and she identifies with things I'm dealing with.
I really appreciate my counselor, Amanda. She's attentive and understanding. She provides a realistic perspective while being compassionate. I'm grateful for her help and the tools she provides to help me in my relationships. I would highly recommend her!
Amanda is fantastic!
