About me

As you scroll through the many options for counseling, it can be stressful. Seeking counseling can be intimidating and scary, but it is sign of strength and courage. It is never easy admitting you need help. Most of us yoyo between the past and the future, giving very little thought to the present. I believe counseling is a way of reconnecting to the part of us that has been lost in relationships, responsibilities, unexpected changes, and things we have yet to heal from. I am a proud Air Force veteran and a mother. I have a M.A. in Counseling and Guidance with an emphasis in Mental Health.
My goal is to help clients get "unstuck" by providing a safe space to explore what is holding them back from living the type of life they want to live. Therapy is the best form of self-care. My background includes helping children, adolescents and adults manage complex grief, loss and trauma. I have experience working with active-duty military, veterans and civilians who are impacted by different types of traumas, MST, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, addiction, low self-esteem, and occupational stressors. My therapeutic approach is client centered. I also use CBT to address unhelpful thought patterns that impact difficulty in managing complex emotions.

I was very hesitant to sign up for an online therapy service. After my first appointment with Amanda, that hesitation went away. Amanda is professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. She gives me tools that I can use daily to help combat my stress, anxiety, and depression. She is great at what she does, and I am very pleased with my experience!
