Amanda Parsons, LCSW
About me
Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 7 years of clinical experience working with youth and adults. I have experience in a variety of different areas; anxiety, depression, trauma resolution, PTSD, sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse, women's issues, substance use, attachment issues, family issues, abandonment, self-harm and ADHD. I use a combination of therapeutic modalities including; cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, attachment, dialectical-behavior and solution-focused therapy to help you process the past, identify what you want for the future and work with you to create a roadmap to get there.
My counseling style is warm, open and empathetic. I think it’s important to have a collaborative, trusting relationship in therapy. I know it can be challenging and sometimes scary to "do the work," but I will walk with you and support you through the process. I believe you have the strength already inside you to create a more fulfilling life, as well as in the potential to grow from challenges. I’d like to help you identify your strengths so you can build on what already works. What I’ve learned during my time as a therapist, the more people put into therapy, the more they get out of it.
I look forward to working with you!
