Amanda Rebel

About Me

I am a California and Colorado licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and certified yoga teacher. I have 10 years experience providing counseling to adults, young adults and older adults, with a wide range of needs. I am passionate about helping people change old habits and behaviors, cope with grief, loss and life-stress. I often work with people adjusting to new phases of life, and with folks challenged by depression, anxiety and self-esteem issues. I also have experience treating trauma-related issues.

My counseling style is eclectic, compassionate and client-focused--I want to learn about any goals, motivations (or lack of motivation), difficulties, joys, reasons you came to counseling, etc... so I can create--with you-- a plan that is tailored for you. I have experience utilizing many types of treatment modalities, such as CBT, DBT, Narrative and Expressive Arts. I also can weave in elements of Yoga if desired. My orientation is Transpersonal and Humanistic. I welcome diversity.

For many of us, it takes courage to ask for help. And it's important to find the right counselor, one who you feel like "gets" you. Your growth, motivation and success in counseling is linked to the relationship with your counselor. So feel free to contact me, to explore if I may be the right fit.

Amanda is great with her words but also careful. She’s kind and easy to talk to. I’m really looking forward to working with her in the future.

I've messaged with Amanda a few times and have had two video sessions so far. The conversation flows very easily and I am able to express my feelings, emotions, problems and happiness. This is the first time I am doing online counseling and I definitely wasn’t expecting that it would be a very good match for me! I am extremely happy to be paired with Amanda and I hope our relationship will keep on growing.
