About Me

I am a mental health counselor licensed in Hawaii with 3 years of experience working as a counselor in private practice and 13 years working with children and families with parenting concerns and developmental delays. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, and addictions . I have also worked with many children, teens and young adults with developmental delays.

My core values are empathy, open mindedness and loyalty and I approach all that I work with with these core values at the forefront. I desire to meet all people where they are at in their lives with an open mind and empathetic heart in order to help them achieve their greatest reality. My usual approach to counseling is cognitive behavioral where I will talk with you through the thoughts and feelings that you are having and how they may be shaping your behaviors. Please know that while I challenge your thought patterns, I will never question your values and beliefs.

I truly enjoy getting to know each and every person I work with and I look forward to getting to know you. I understand that seeking help can sometimes be scary or overwhelming, please know that I am ready to walk your path with you and help you live the life you are wanting to live.

I look forward to talking with you and hope to begin working with you soon! Congratulations on taking this first step!!

As I’ve said before I have a lot of respect for Amanda she’s done the footwork to gain her education , and her professionalism shows that she wasn’t just asleep in class.

She has real world answers for real world problems, meat and potatoes, so to speak.

Great counselor, very helpful and takes time to address every issue. Also supportive and flexible with her schedule and yours.

Amanda always listens, and she gives positive feedback to the small goals that she helps me set for myself. She helps me think of different ways to go about a certain situation that is healthy and productive. She is awesome!

Amanda is the right balance of asking questions and giving advice. She knows how to push me to challenge my current way of thinking and we've only had a couple sessions! She is super professional yet is down to earth and very relatable. I look forward to continuing my progress with her and see what we can get done together!

It’s going great so far - probably at a pace that is healthy. I know I have a tendency of wanting to sprint things at the first (spending more time early on), so I’m enjoying the pace.

I also like the method of conversation so far - but we are in the discovery phase I assume so when we get deeper into discussion I’m looking forward to how Amanda can help me navigate through my challenges.

Amanda has immensely helped me understand myself better, and treated me with so much understanding the entire time. I feel I am more aware of how I'm feeling and how to better vocalize myself to others.
