About me

Amanda Sneed is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience in providing therapy to adults, families, and couples since 2003. Her professional experiences include private practice, a large social services agency and the Alzheimer’s Association. Amanda completed her formal education with a Master’s in Social Work degree in 2000 from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She then expanded her working knowledge to include a holistic background by receiving unique specialty training from the Chicago College of Healing Arts. Amanda connects in a compassionate, empathetic and non-judgmental therapeutic approach. She takes a client-centered focus, working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma (including domestic violence), substance abuse issues, and grief and loss. By focusing on the whole person instead of only one aspect to overcome, Amanda assists individuals to increase self-awareness, recognize patterns, and gain empowerment. She believes we are all equipped with the tools for healing, but at times can struggle and need guidance.

So far, Amanda has been great! Responsive, thoughtful, and constructive. I've only just begun the journey, but I feel extremely confident that I'll be sticking with her going forward. Always great to have access to someone outside of your life to work through thoughts with, and I'm glad to have Amanda in my corner.

Amanda is my second counselor with BetterHelp and she's excellent! I'm glad I gave the company a second chance because I feel like this format is helping me immensely. It's very hard to find a good counselor, especially when I work full time and have a life!
