About me

In my many years providing mental health services, I have had the great good fortune to pursue a career that reflects my values, and continues to provide new challenges. I was fortunate enough to receive my undergraduate degree from New York University, and my Master's Degree from Columbia University. These institutions not only provided an excellent foundation, but also reflect the diversity, of the city in which they function. My experience as a mental health clinician in New York City, provided the singular opportunity to interact with the broadest possible range of individuals, with their unique backgrounds, world views, and needs. Upon relocating to rural New Jersey, I experienced a new, unique, and unexpected range of opportunities to provide, much needed, mental health services. My experience has ranged from providing emergency mental health services, in-home family counseling, adoption home studies, and outpatient counseling. In addition, I have obtained post-graduate training in a variety of therapeutic modalities. Each experience has taught me important lessons, and broadened my appreciation of the ways in which we are all united in our shared humanity, and unique in our singular strengths and gifts. I believe that the best I can accomplish in my chosen field is to appreciate each individual with whom I work, and seek to understand whatever it is that they hope to overcome in order to thrive. I view therapy as a journey shared between therapist and client. I also strongly believe that while life will always present some degree of difficulty, loss, and pain...there is always ample room for happiness and hope. It has been my experience that clinical skills must always be accompanied by flexibility, humility, acceptance, and a sense of humor. My clients continue to be my greatest teachers, and provide the fullest measure of inspiration. I look forward to working with you on your journey of growth and discovery.
