Amanda Wilson, LCSW
About me
Hello! I am happy to see that you are thinking about the next steps for your personal growth.
I am a clinical social worker who has been helping people for the past 11 years. I have worked with children, teens, adults and families through the course of my career. I have helped people with a variety of problems, such as, anxiety, depression, life transitions, childhood and adult trauma, and relationship problems.
I use a mix of therapeutic approaches when working with people. I like to get to know a person and help the person decide on a course of action based on their needs and personality. I am a firm believer that any and all interventions need to be focused on you. This means that we will work together to decide what works best for your lifestyle and the changes you would like to make. I am empathetic and genuinely believe that all of us are able to grow from our experiences. I believe that hope is one of our greatest human qualities and holds us during our harder moments in life. We have the ability to change and the power to heal from our life circumstances. I would love to be a part of that journey with you. I have a conversational style and approach during sessions and like to spend some time getting to know my clients as we work together.
I often pull from the following therapeutic approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness. It is not important for you to be well-versed in these approaches, that is what I'm here for.
I look forward to talking to you more to see if I may be a good fit for your current therapeutic needs.
