About Me

Hi, my name is Amber Coleman, LMHC and I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from Louisiana State University (Go Tigers!) and my master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in Counselor Education. I have practiced in a variety of settings such as community mental health centers, crisis units, rehabilitation centers, and am currently the director of social services at a psychiatric hospital working between the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Using a person centered and solution-focused approach, I provide individual, family and group therapy to adolescents and adults. My areas of treatment focus include: anxiety, depression, psychosis, emotional regulation, communication, ADHD, self-esteem, family and relationship concerns. My style is warm, understanding and caring, as I have learned to establish a rapport with my clients right away in order for them to feel at ease and comfortable to discuss some of life's greater challenges. I take my time with assessments and use multiple strategies to offer support and direction to each individual I work with. I believe in an authentic and collaborative approach and I use compassion with an open mind to create positive therapeutic change for all of my clients.

I have had 2 sessions with Amber. She has been incredibly helpful and understanding of my needs and current circumstances. I immediately felt comfortable with her and could tell how much she cares for her patients.

Amber is amazing. She makes me feel heard and my thoughts validated. I feel like I’m a mess with a million things going on but she makes me feel like none of that matters. She has pinpointed the areas I need to work on and I see improvements so far on my thoughts and behaviors.

I really enjoy working with Amber. She always validates how I am feeling and relates to my experiences well. She offers different suggestions on what I am dealing with and works with my schedule as well as encourages me to reach out via messaging whenever I need it.

Work with me!
