Amber Garlick, LCSW
I am a licensed social worker and therapist in Indiana with 7 years of professional work experience. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of settings, and with a broad range of people at varying stages of life. I began my career as a child and family therapist, providing therapy both in the office and in the community, and a major focus of mine was treating PTSD for both children and adults, though I also provided treatment for myriad other mental health and adjustment-related issues. After a few years, I transitioned into working with adults who struggled with substance use disorders, many of whom had also experienced significant trauma in their lives. In every work setting, and within each population, I encountered people who were struggling with LGBTQIA+-related issues (and I have tremendous passion for working with this community), various types of trauma, interpersonal relationships, motivation, self esteem, and confidence.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and my approach to therapy is heavily strengths-based and solutions-focused. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs, and I encourage, welcome, and value your input into what your treatment plan entails-- you are the expert in your life, after all.
It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey, and I am proud of you for doing this for yourself. You deserve to live the life you desire. Let's get started!

Although I have participated in traditional therapy before, Amber understands and respects the fact that certain forms of communication just dont work for me.Being able to communicate in a safe way under circumstances that are beneficial to me
