People often come to therapy because they seek the absence of the negative in their lives. They tell me that they don't want to be sad anymore. They don't want racing thoughts. They say they don't want to feel the way that they feel at this moment. It's challenging to have a clear vision of the future; of your hopes, dreams, and aspirations when the pain is too blinding right now. When was the last time someone asked you what you want in your life and actually responded in a supportive way? My job is to help cultivate those wants and partner with you on your path to happiness. I would be honored to explore what happiness looks like for you. Part of what makes our experience real is when it is shared with others.
I am a licensed clinical social worker with the ability to supervise other colleagues in my field. I have over ten years experience serving clients from all walks of life and from many different backgrounds. I have served in large hospitals to large homeless shelters. Regardless of a person's income status or social background, I have found one universal truth amongst all people I meet: Everyone experiences pain and all people long for connection and support. I specialize in serving children, adults and families with special interest in anxiety/depression, grief/loss issues, substance use issues and complex traumas. I have extensive experience serving clients who have been diagnosed with complex, chronic medical conditions and have a strong awareness and sensitivity to the barriers people face as a result of these sensitive needs.
I congratulate you on taking this important step for yourself and for having the courage to say you want change in your life. It truly is a gift to me when clients invite me into their world, when they give themselves permission to be vulnerable and allow me the opportunity to help restore balance in their lives. I look forward to learning more about your dreams and your struggles, if you make the choice to no longer face them alone.

Amber was amazing and helpful during important parts of my life. She is a great listener and shared great insights to think about. Her help will always help guide me going forward!
Amber is knowledgeable and I always leave our conversations feeling refreshed. She challenges my anxious/ unreal thoughts along with jokes with me about realistic day to day things. She makes me feel validated and I’m thankful to have her as a counselor.
