About Me
I am an LPC in Georgia and have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, career challenges, veterans, grief, and marriage counseling. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
As a part-time therapist, I spend the remainder of my time focusing on furthering my education as well as serving in the Air Force Reserves. My education is focused both in counseling as well as military trauma and Christian theology. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Master's degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Divinity in Military Chaplaincy, and currently working towards a Masters in Pastoral Counseling in Military Resilience. My clinical focus is secular with the addition of Christian theology at the request of the client.
I believe each person is unique and I strive to incorporate a holistic approach that allows the ability to explore how a presenting concern affects a client in all areas of their life. My goal is to assist you to make healthy life decisions on current concerns and also prepare for decisions in the future.
Any client that has the courage to attend counseling I believe is the ideal client. That first step is the most difficult to take in therapy, which takes courage. When a client is motivated to face their current issues and concerns, it opens up the door to healing, growth, and learning. As a counselor, my goal for each client is that they stay dedicated to their therapy process.
I am a strong believer in the teachings of Dave Ramsey and his class Financial Peace University. If at any point you are needing financial advisement, I will refer to the information published on www.daveramsey.com.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Amelia Barton. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Amelia is very helpful with what she does and how she goes about it, she’s very easy to work with, very friendly and open minded, as well as very patient. I’ve only been working with Amelia for a few weeks and the benefits I’ve been gathering are amazing to me
Amelia is a fun helpful individual that teaches what she know, and she knows how to love communicate and to open yourself up to the ones you care about. She understands what causes the mind and body to react to certain feeling, especially aggression. Grateful to be taught such valuable lessons from her!
I have had three sessions with Amelia Barton. I have enjoyed my sessions this far and look forward who is continuing to work together
I've done several reviews for Amelia. The only thing that's changed is how much more strongly I feel about how much she has helped me and how much I appreciate her and respect her. I have truly grown and continue to grow under her tutelage.
In fact, I tell friends about her and betterhelp.com all the time. I've encouraged several of them to check it out and give it serious consideration!
Amelia is such a great help in my life. She helps me see the balance in different situations too. I would recommend her to anyone!
I look forward to my meetings with Amelia. She is professional, insightful, kind, and has been so helpful. I would definitely recommend her to someone I cared about.
She is the best. Easy to talk too. Gives you different ways to address your concerns.
This is my second time with Amelia. She is great! She gave me helpful tips and a listening ear when I needed it the most. I can't wait to start back with her. Thank to her help, I feel like I can over come my mental barriers.
Amelia is thoughtful, warm and insightful. She has made such a positive impact in my life that has changed my life in every area. I have recommended online counseling to friends and family based off of my experience with Amelia and I will continue to do so. Best decision I’ve ever made for myself and my family.
Amelia is amazing.
She’s the best counselor ever!
Amelia is a great therapist. I feel heard, and understood!
I love Amelia! She has helped me so much!
My sessions with Amelia were great. She was always attentive and spoke in a nice manner. She really helped me out during a difficult time.
Wonderful. Very attentive and respectful.
Amelia has been absolutely amazing. She listens. We defined goals in my first session and as each session is completed, I feel more relieved and closer to my goals. She’s given me great tools to help me cope with the grief of losing my wife. I’m definitely in a much better place with my mental health after connecting with Amelia.
