About Me
Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. My name is Amie and I am very happy that you've reached out.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NY with over 11 years of experience in the field. I graduated from SUNY Stonybrook in 2007 with my Masters Degree in Social Work, and worked with the agencies supporting the homeless population as well as children with emotional and behavioral issues until opening my private practice in 2012. In my practice I have supported clients struggling with issues ranging from depression and anxiety, to grief counseling, family and adoption issues, as well as couples and relationship counseling.
I believe that therapy is not a one size fits all "cookie cutter" thing. Not everybody's issues are the same, so my therapeutic approach should be different as well. My approach is very client centered and goal oriented, for this reason, it's very important for me to get feedback on whats working for you, and whats not.
In my personal life, I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 21 years, and we have boy/girl twins who are 16. In my spare time, and enjoy reading, doing yoga, and spending time with friends.
If you feel like now is the right time to work through whatever has been holding you back, and start reaching toward your goals, I'm happy to help!

She is amazing and so understanding and helpful
She is great
Amie is a wonderful mental health professional. I value our sessions and conversations.
Super kind and helpful. Very informative and respectful :)
Amie is thoughtful, supportive, and respectful in her approach to counseling. In her initial message, she acknowledged that she didn’t exactly fit the profile that I listed in my interest form, but highlighted why she thought we could be a good fit. That was important to me and immediately built trust for me as a person beginning therapy for the first time. While my first few sessions started as me venting, I was able to ask Aime to find trends and to push my thinking - she did just that. Now our sessions feel more like a mirror reflecting both the things I’m aware of, and the things that I’m not. I’m grateful for our sessions and have had several personal breakthroughs since we started. I look forward to working with Aime each week.
Amie exceeds my expectations about counseling in this form. She hits the right notes, challenging me and supporting me. Thumbs up!
Amie is helping me at a difficult time and beyond grateful for her support! She is fantastic!
She’s helped me with so much! I’m so glad to have her! She’s super sweet and amazing and I have already recommended her to my friends!
I immediately felt comfortable with Amie and she helped me understand how my experience with online counseling would be different from in-person counseling. She understood my specific issue and knew how to discuss it quickly. I would definitely recommend.
She's helped my confidence.
Amie and I have only had 1 session but I feel SO comfortable with her. She listens and gives great advise. I cannot wait for my next session with her !
