I am a first generation multiracial American female with a Japanese and middle Eastern background. I also speak Japanese in addition to English fluently.
I hold a BA from UC Davis in Psychology and a Masters in Social Welfare (concentration in direct practice in mental health) from UC Berkeley.
My work experience is over 13 years of practice in various settings including private and public hospitals, trauma centers, mental health clinics providing group and individual therapy, substance use programs, and inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities and behavioral health programs.
I have specialized in evidenced-based therapy including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, etc.
I also specialize in supporting mental health within the BIPOC community, immigrant/intergenerational dynamics, Asian Pacific islander mental health, complex medical issues resulting in mental health issues, depression, anxiety, sexual health, LGBTQI, and stress related to racial trauma and system oppression, work stress, finding a balance between self care and work. In addition, I could be a good fit for clients seeking support around multiracial issues and relationships.
