Amirah Smith, LPC
About me
I am a licensed professional counselor and licensed chemical dependency counselor with over 20 years of experience. Counseling with me begins with a relationship which involves active work such as personal introspection, reflection and out of session assignments in an ongoing process on an outpatient basis. Through this process we will explore your present situation, the changes you would like to see happen, what these changes look like, your needs and wants, your safety and your emotions. I approach therapy with an accepting, egalitarian, multicultural approach. As your therapist, I will challenge you. The process of change is hard work and I encourage you to keep working even when it’s difficult. I am not a medical doctor and not able to practice medicine. The counseling relationship is voluntary, and you can terminate services at any time.
